Agile is not a buzz word or a catch phrase, not a ‘how-to’ that will solve everything. Agile principles are based in science and draw from some of the best parts of just-in-time production, Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
Using agile principles in facilitation is not a faster way to teach a subject, in fact it is usually slower. The differences are in the results, comprehension and understanding as opposed to ‘I sat in a room for hours while someone talked’.
Agile principles are changing the way we look at work, from the simple tasks to the complex. Agile does not mean moving faster, instead moving smarter. Reducing workload to increase productivity seems counterintuitive, until you do it.
